Wind is a truly Powerful Sustainablesource of sustainable energy and for many centuries man has made use of its power to sail ships, power simple machinery to grind their wheat and to provide power for Forges and grinding various tools.
However in the modern world Wind Power may be one of our saviors.
Fuel cost concerns over climate change and global warming are becoming a huge concern for people in their daily lives. Just consider the extreme weather that most countries seem to be experiencing these days, you can watch the news reports almost on a daily basis and see the reports of the damage they cause and of the huge amount of power that the wind can produce Wind Power is so huge that we simply must put it to good use.
So if you are considering taking action what steps should we consider? Big ones… is not the answer by the way. Ok Lets consider Wind as an energy source for a moment. We know that Wind is an extremely powerful source of energy and a great platform with a plenty of positives going for it.
Wind Power is extremely Powerful Energy
But is Wind Power a Viable Energy Solution?
Using the wind to harness energy from our environment is hardly a new concept. Ancient Persians are believed to have been the first people to use windmills to turn grinding machines for their grain. The Dutch, of course, are also famous for their windmills, they did the same thing and so on. In modern days, however, wind energy platforms are much more refined and are used primarily for energy production.
To get energy from wind, we must focus on a concept known as kinetic energy.
Do to micro-climate situations, wind is produced fairly readily in a natural process. The sun heats the ground, but does so at different rates. In areas where the ground is heated faster, the air rises as temperatures go up. Air from cooler surrounding areas then rushes in to fill the gap. We then convert it into usable electricity by catching it with wind turbines. The wind is caught by the blades of a spinner, which turns, cranks a generator and electricity is produced. This process is clean natural and simple, but produces a monstrous amount of energy. But what’s more it is natural Sustainable Alternate Source Of Energy
If we could harness all the wind in the world, we would have more than 10 times the amount of energy we need to power the entire globe. Of course, harnessing it is the problem.
There are a number of reasons why wind power is part of our energy solution. First of all, it produces no pollution or greenhouse gases. Secondly, it is sustainable and renewable power and will last as long as our sun– about another four billion years. Thirdly, wind energy is available in practically any country, which means no reliance on foreign resources and the political pressures that accompany them. Fourthly, Wind power produces more jobs per watt produced than all of the other energy platforms, including oil and coal.
Wind power is growing in use and popularity in Countries such as the UK, Germany, in fact most of Europe are now using wind in some way and China is attempting to go green and to reduce their dependance on coal and gas fired power stations and are currently building their own wind farms. In the United States, we too are building more and more wind farms and California has three large wind farms that are used to provide power during massive energy use during periods in the summer when most people have their air conditioners running at full cooling.
So Yes, The process is viable, but we must accept it and continue to improve our understanding and technology to extract every possible watt of power from Natures Power source.
